Farm Produce Section 2026
The Farm Produce Section celebrates the quality, skill and hard work involved in growing and producing crops for farming. This traditional section showcases a range of field crops and farm produce, giving exhibitors the opportunity to present the best of their harvest.
Held in the Farm Produce Marquee, the section includes classes for grain, roots, potatoes, hay and silage, reflecting the important role of crop production within local agriculture.
Grain and Field Produce
The grain classes include wheat, barley and oats, alongside combined barley samples and stalks of beans. These classes highlight the quality of locally grown crops and the care taken by exhibitors in selecting and presenting their entries.
Root crop classes include fodder beet, farmers’ potatoes and the ever-popular heaviest root class, offering a traditional and competitive display of farm-grown produce.
Hay and Silage
The section also includes classes for hay samples, with entries judged on quality and presentation. A separate silage class is held for big bale silage, with entries judged prior to the show.
